The information provided in the questionnaire is used by the bank to get to know you.
The collection of this information is required by law to obtain and maintain adequate knowledge of the client.
Following the entry into force of the 4th AML Directive and the Bank of Italy's implementing provisions of 30th July 2019, the questionnaire was expanded to include new information. All banks are required to collect this to better assess customers.
Therefore, after 20th August, to continue using your Fineco account services, you need to go to the Account management > Personal profile section and fill in the missing information.
Updating your profile is simple! If you access the Personal Area of the website with your codes after that date, you’ll see a reminder inviting you to update your personal profile immediately. Simply click “UPDATE NOW” and fill in the missing information highlighted in yellow.
- What happens if I don't update my profile?
Your access to the account and its operation will be temporarily blocked.
- Why is this necessary?

- How do I update my profile?
From 20th August you can update and add the new information when you log into your account's personal area. Go to the Account management > Personal profile section. After completing the short questionnaire, you can confirm the operation with the PIN.
- Who will need to update the questionnaire?
The questionnaire must be updated by all current account holders.
Which questions have been changed or added to the questionnaire?
If you claim to be a "Pensioner”, we'll ask you to specify your last profession.
It is necessary to specify the geographical location where you carry out your business and to indicate the main geographical areas with which you have relations, choosing between Italy, EU Country and Non-EU Country.
Please note: This question will not be posed if an individual claims to be a homemaker, student, unemployed or pensioner.
The new options are Insurance compensation and Investment/lease income.

The list of sectors has been amended in the new questionnaire. The new list includes buying gold, currency exchange, gambling/betting, health, construction, arms trade, arms industry and war trade, mining industry, waste collection and disposal, renewable energy production, cryptoassets and sectors involved in public financing/procurement
We ask you to let us know if you hold a position in public office. If so, we'll ask you to specify the public office held from those listed.
- I lost my access codes and devices. What can I do?
If you've lost or forgotten your PIN or website access codes, you can retrieve them by launching the wizard in the "Lost Codes” section.
- Can I update my profile using the Fineco app?
No, the profile cannot be updated via the app. You can only update your information by logging into the website finecobank.com.
To update your questionnaire for Natural Persons first access the personal area of the website. Visit “Account management > personal profile” to fill in the following information:
- Declaration of updated contact information
This is a required field. Ensure your contact information in the "My contacts" section is correct and confirm it here
- Personal and professional information
Select the type of work done and complete all the fields requested.
Please note: If you are a pensioner, you must also indicate your last job.
The options are Employee, Self-employed, Entrepreneur, Freelancer, Executive.
- Asset origin
This is a required field. You must choose at least one option from among the following: Income from work, Inheritance, Winnings, Donations, Insurance compensation, Spouse or other family income, Investment/lease income.
- Account use
This is a required field. At least one of the following options must be selected: Ordinary banking, Investments/Trading and Professional activities
- Geographical area
The required field for persons declaring to be: Employee, Freelancer, Self-employed, Entrepreneur.
You must specify the geographical location where you work and the main geographical areas with which you have professional relations, choosing between Italy, EU Countries and Non-EU Countries.
